Dear FHHAS Supporters;
I wanted to offer an update in light of the recent news on COVID-19 as it relates to the Frances H. Hensley Animal Shelter community. First, please know that no matter what, FHHAS is deeply committed to the protection and care of the animals that need us, and the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff. All animals in our care are doing well, but will need continued daily care through this crisis. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue through these uncertain times.
We are now doing adoptions by appointment only. We encourage you to visit Fhhas.org to see all our adoptable pets. You can reach us via FB messaging and our email address to schedule a time to meet your potential pet or call us at 731.249.9443. Please fill out an online application within the pets online profile to expedite the adoption process. Adoptions will be limited to 45 minutes and be held outside, weather permitting. If you are sick please do not visit the shelter.
We are limiting the number of volunteers to 3 at a time. If more people would like to volunteer then we will narrow the times down to 2 hours brackets. Please call us beforehand to schedule a time to come in @ 731.249.9443 (This does not include volunteers that already have set hours with us).
We are no longer doing any intakes.
Remember, there is currently no evidence that our companion animals can contract or transmit COVID-19. The best place for pets is home with you. Please include your pets in your emergency preparedness plan–most notably, a two-week supply of pet food/supplies, crates and leashes, identification in the form of tags and updated microchips, and friends and family identified who can take care of your animals should you become sick or hospitalized.
We will keep you updated as more news is made available.
